Default form and function. is it legit?

car: 1994 honda accord lx 2.2L

dilemma: my car has about 125,000 miles on the stock suspension so I am looking to upgrade to coilovers in the near future. these are the cheapest coilovers I have found that have fairly good reviews :
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FUNCT...-/250445466537

please let me know what ur experience is with this product and whether or not u reccomend it.

also let me know about the installation process if u have any info.

thanks!

Me and my brother both run them.

We love them.

They are good for DD, Tracking, try the Type II's. Otherwise, no complaints here.

That's a whole bunch of BS. Love mine to death. type 1's are great for a sporty dd drive. I'm not saying they are the best, but for the money My dd ride is smooth, rigid when need be, cornering couldn't be more linear. So nice. I hug corners like no tomorrow just because I can. I have no problem on type 1's thus far. I've out driven 2009 mercedes benz's and others in corners.

The only down side is, I wish I would have went straight for type 2's to amplify this all. Low settings for dd, and med-high, When I'm feeling aggressive I wish there was more rigidness to 100% know the handlings there. I'm not willing to find the limit of type 1's on an open road yet. To say they suck, is so far off.

They don't suck, they are great for the money. Plenty of better suspension out there but are you willing to spend 800-900+. 600 for a set of BNIB FF type 1's is great IMHO. and yes, they go REAL low.

Looking at these too... Will everyone agree they will be noticably better than stock (My 98 Cx has about 14X XXX Km's) and worth the money?

what other options are there for better than stock DD suspensions (Aka Cheaper $700 is a little much for me)?

When I do throw in some suspension I will also for sure be getting Sway bars front and rear (I'll need some front LCA's)

Compared to stock, you'd kick yourself in the butt and say why didn't I do this sooner. Go for it. My next step is a full hard bushings kit to improve it all. After that I'll mess with aftermarket brace/swaybar tuning. Futuristically speaking.

Who cares I have an underpowered D-series, you can't turn like I can hehe ... I love crusing anyway. Not even tempted to race with a sohc.

Sweet! My uncle is a mechanic too so I can probably get them for cheap... it'll probably be closer to two months before I'll have the money buy them but I'll throw up a build thread with lots of pictures.

I don't race my D ever either (unless its downhill lol) but I am thinking of also doing a mini-me or a B18B swap for a little more power and not a big hit to the wallet

Sorry for slightly jacking your post OP

What about KW Variant 1? Are strut and spring combos a good option? Or are Coilovers much better?

You should listen to all these fools giving you "advice" because these things are the best things since sliced bread as seen here - https://honda-tech.com/forums/showth...hlight=leaking.

I don't know what you guys are thinking but if I was gonna drop 6-10 yards on shocks I hope "inspector 5" does his ****** job and make sure my shocks aren't leaking. Go to the auto-x forum and read what guys run there.

So are you saying million dollar coilovers do not leak? Lies! Every company makes mistakes, and for one year function will warranty. Will your koni ssp? No! Will your tein? No. Why pay 1600 for tein re/ra/ha if they leak as well? Many ppl. Have used these functions slammed for 2yrs Still trucking along fine and that's a bad coilover?

Slam some tein basics....what was that? You can't?

This generation of functions is definitely progressing, And they constantly push to upgrade quality. D2 has not, ksport has not. I'm not advocating they are the best but pound for pound best bang for the buck. So if you like a slammed car you covered, if you like a mild ride height your covered.

First off I would never buy any of those shocks that you have mentioned except Koni's. Now besides Tein and Koni name one of those brands that actually do well in competition.....Ksport even has trophies to back them up haha. FF = MIT/MIC crap.
