Which Coilover/Shock setup?
KSport Coilover System
OMNIPOWER COILOVERS
D2 Coilovers
any others to choose from.. which would u choose and why? I'm looking for a new suspension setup for my 96 GS-R. I'm comparing the handling of my car to my fiances Celica GT-S. Right now her car puts me to shame in the corners.

If all you are doing is street driving then any of the packages you mention are fine and all are about equal. Get the one that has the color you like the best.
If you are going to do any track events or autocross go Koni/GC. Because you can easily get other spring rates if you don't like the GC rates. Because GC will talk to you and give you the rates that will work best for your application. Because you can get the Konis serviced in the US. Because the Konis come with a real lifetime guarantee. Because you can get the Konis revalved. Because Koni sponsors this forum. Because CRXLee of Koni is on this forum to answer your questions. Because racers agree that Koni/GC is the way to go.

Best answer I've heard yet. I would have to say the GC/Koni setup I had on my GS-T back in the day was pretty nice but I like the idea of a setup that was manufactured to be together.
I think I'll go with the red ones

GC/Koni is the way to go no doubt. However if you're a cheapass like me you'll go omni/kyb agx, that handles great with my teggy, but I have this annoying knocking sound in back I haven't been able to fix yet, and a terrible street ride. But it handles like a go-kart so it's worth it.

lol. usually in this forum people reverse what you just said, i.e.: "BTW for the price of one of the above mentioned units you can just about get GC coils and Konis."
what can i say, i'm bored at work. thanks for making me chuckle.

what do you guys think GC/Koni vs. Tein SS vs. Skunk2 Pro for street & occassional track use?</TD></TR></TABLE>
as far as street/track use goes, IMHO, there are no parallels in the market in the 750-900$ range to the koni yellow / ground control sleeves combination. nothing else at that price point has the range of damper adjustability (100%) or diverse spring rate-handling capabilities (a side effect of the damper adjustability range). people who say they want a suspension with valving "tuned specifically for their spring rate" as a reason not to buy konis are fooling themselves, as the damper stiffness can be adjusted to handle whatever springs they want (within the 100-550 lb/in range, anyway).
there is something to be said for not having to spend time messing with the shocks to get them to feel right on the street, but once you find that point you know where it is, and can go back to it at will. you can also adjust for how you're feeling on that particular day ( i know i do).
i'm not saying that everything else should bow down to the koni gods, but i do find most of the arguements against this setup a bit silly, as most seem to attempt to hide the whole "m@d Sh1nY @n0D1z3d bL1ng, y0!" reasoning behind a thin veil of inaccurate, technical-sounding (read: big words) mumbo-jumbo.
read the stickie at the top of the forum, you can see a valving comparison with many of the popular shocks/coilovers in this price point and above.
do a search in the RR/AX forum for "advance design koni" or something similar to get to a thread that explains in-depth how to read the charts.
