Coilover setup
What coilover setup is best for around 500? Or possibly lower.
skunk2
tein basic
omni power
would any of those be good? I am aiming for a smooth ride. I want around a 2 inch drop on an integra.

Whats happened is people grow tired of answering the same vague question time and time again, and repeating themselves with the same answer.
What do you want to do with your car?
Do you really need coilovers?
Don't cheap out parts, and do some research on the parts you are considering.
Coilovers aren't made for smooth rides.
Good for you might not be good for someone else, because everyone has different needs and preferences.
You need to do 2 things: be more specific with your questions, and a lot of research.

K, lets try this again.

What do you want to do with your car? Meaning, do you have any hopes of being somewhat successful in any sort of competitive driving? Or is it going to be a daily driver and you "enjoy spirited driving on twisty local backroads, maybe hit the track on the weekends" type of thing?
Do you really need coilovers? Whats a coilover for, really? Its not for smooth rides, thats for sure. Emissions has nothing to do with your car's height...

If your goal is just to lower the car (IF, I said IF), then consider lowering springs as a cheaper option, as you're clearly on a budget. You will not find any quality coilovers for $500 and under.</TD></TR></TABLE>

$500, sorry no chance. $650 for Omni and it only goes up from there.
PIC is right what do you want from the car, soft ride, ok...but like he said, auto-x, daily driven, performance driving? more info.
and also if you want soft, you'll want soft rates...none of which you'll get from 99% of the coilovers.
Skunk2 and GC are not coilovers in your sense, since you still need shocks to go with them and decent shocks alone will go close to your budget.
so $500 will buy you nothing and even $600 or $700 is not going to buy quality. $299 for GC coilovers but you want soft, so $339 for custom rates...then atleast $300 for KYB AGX shocks....get the idea. you need atleast $700-$800 or don't even bother. Buy some Tein S-tech springs and install them after you do your emissions, they are soft, lower close to 2" and are $150. then when you stock shocks blow, spend another $300 on KYB AGX and your still within budget. and don't forget the alignment too which is like what $60, if your not installing yourself there is labour...$500 does not go far at all, even on a spring and shock combo it still dosen't go real far but is do-able.
oh and i need to buy expensive coilovers to raise my car after emissions is not a reason to buy coilovers...wait until after you get your emission and install the suspension, makes sense right.

yup, thats a great combo. I ran that exact combo in my EL for about 8 months and it was great. 3 front and 4 or 5 rear was fantastic settings on the Illuminas. Its soft enough for daily driving even with the gf in the car...but firm enough you can have some fun, especially if after you add a ITR 22mm rear sway bar = fun as hell
