Default Cleaning spoon calipers.

Hey gents. I just searched and couldn't find anything. I want to clean my spoon calipers and was thinking of letting them sit in varsol for a bit. I have a feeling that brake cleaner would **** with the seals in the pistons, would varsol do the same?

Thanks all

brake cleaner sprayed onto a rag and wiped gently should work. if not, just make sure you keep washing them when you wash your car with carwash and a mit or brush.

i have sprayed brake cleaner all over it before and nothing happened to the seals.

Brake clean should work fine, otherwise they wouldn't call it that.

Are they painted? I'm not sure... If so, you might not want to hose them down with brake cleaner, you might try simple green or some other mild degreaser first, just wouldn't want the blue to come off of there, you know?

Well, whatever Japanese kid had them before me didn't clean them that often. I took them to a friend who works at a body shop and we used all kinds of cleaners on them. Got lots of the dirt off, but not all. I guess they won't look 100% perfect, as long as the work 100%!!!

Thanks for the tips
