Best Fullcoilover for 00 Civic
I'm looking at getting some full coilovers for my Ek.
I want a good ride quality, with a little performance.
Its a daily driver, and its gonna be boosted soon... So I will be hitting the track on weekends.
Currently, I've been looking at F&F Type 1's, or Ksport Kontrol Pro.
I've searched, and haven't had much conclusive evidence to pick one over the other, or another coilover around the same price range..
Anyone got some input?
I ABSOLUTELY IN NO WAY DO NOT WANT KONI/GROUND CONTROL.
PLEASE STOP TRYING TO CONVINCE ME OF THIS.
I DONT CARE IF YOU THINK I AM BEING STUPID, THIS THREAD IS NOT ABOUT THE BEST SLEEVE SETUP. IT IS ABOUT THE BEST FULL COILOVER SETUP - WHICH THEREFORE EXCLUDES THE KONI/GROUND CONTROL COMBO.

Well I would suggest PIC for a coilover brand they make good full coilovers but if you are looking for the price range of the two you mentioned then I would forget about full coilovers and get koni's and ground controls. They are much better than the two you mentioned and if you are going to go boost wouldnt performance be the most important factor in your decision.
lol. Koni + Ground Control. Your gonna hear that alot.
It is a great combo, for a good price, with a good range of adjustability.
sublues - nice avatar.
reppin teh nice booty

Well if the Konis failed imagine what the two taiwanese made suspensions are going to do.They are or were made by the same people at one time.I would suggest PIC's then they make very good stuff.
Thanks the avatar is still nice to look at

What about the two coilovers at hand?
I also want full setups.
So between Ksport and FF
Im mainly looking for ride quality, Its my daily and theres a lot of **** roads here.
I'm using koni reds on eibach springs and its the worse ride i've ever had.

Well its hard to comment on both since I have only owned one of them and I didnt like it.Like I said they were both made by the same people in the past so I would guess that they feel about the same.I am currently switching over to D2 and they arent much better.I would PM patrickgsr on here he is very knowledgeable when it comes to suspension parts. He really has done tons of research and knows more than anyone I can think of to the point that some of the people that work for the sus[ension companies mentioned have conversations with him regarding spring rates and such.

these are just ballparks of course. without knowing your car weight, how you drive, how you respond to changes, tires, sway bars, and road conditions you can't really dial a car in, just get rough approximates
Ive had three sets of Koni's fail on me.
And Eibachs on several cars and I wish I hadn't.

It's a daily, and I don't do ricer fly bys.
Low Pro Tires (195/40 or 45/15)
Si front and rear sway bars.
And roads are either really good or absolutely horrid.
The street I live on has massive erosion and theres like 3-4" differences between the pavements in various spots. Numerous pot holes and badly paved, if paved at all, streets are pretty common.
Thats why I want ride quality, I'm not worried about performance right now. I need something that is going to last, not fail on me three times in 14 months, and that is going to ride good.
I'm not a member of the dumped club either.

Both the coilovers you chose suck for performance.
Functionform is great for being slammed or a dd, somewhat true with ksport. I have ridden and driven two cars with it they both bounched really bad, and handling wasnt impessive.
You say you had 3 set's of koni's fail? Did you contact koni about this? Are you aware they have a lifetime warranty? Koni's will make either one of the coilovers you picked look like ebay peice of **** brands. Also eibach springs is like the best company out for springs.
For ride quality and pretty much noithing more Functionform is great. I drove my friends car with them quite a few times, they do decently in the twisties but not good compared to koni/gc.

I think something with a much softer spring rate will benefit you but I am in no way a suspension guy.Maybe get the FF or the Ksports with a softer spring rate to make the rid e a bit softer and buy an extra set of springs incase you want better performance later.I can however tell you that if you plan on riding dumped they will not last long or have a nice feel to the ride.I know that you said you dont ride dumped but I figured I would put it out there.

This is for my daily, yes.
That is what I want, good coilovers for my daily.
Yes, I contacted koni.
And got a replacement set.
They failed.
Got another set.
They failed.
And so i switched to tokico blue, which ride better and have yet to fail.
I dont care about cornering, I dont have many turns and stuff and I dont plan on hauling *** around corners.
I want a good ride quality more than anything.
When I boost my car, itll only be driven hard at the track where there are no corners.
Funcionform i guess is where I'd look.
Are you sure you want coilovers? A good spring and shock setup would suit a daily great, and would cost as much as a good coilover.

You don't care about performance and you want ride quality, yet you drive 195/40/15 tires;
from what you say you appear to only drive calmly and in a straight line, given some potholes. Yet you waste 3 sets of Koni's,
and you don't have the slightest clue on how this could came to be?!

as for eibach, you didn't dislike the company, you disliked the rate. they wind all kinds of ****, you just have to choose wisely for your application. progressive springs are also a little easier on the daily commute, the trade off is they are slightly less communicative at the limit. if the 94-01 integra tein h tech will fit, they offer ITR rates +20% which are that 300/250 i mentioned only in a progressive wind. that does offer an improvement in pothole soaking versus a linear spring like the eibach ers.
by the way, 195 40 is awful small for a full size civic, there is also a reason you wasted 3 sets of konis {if you even did} i find it somewhat hard to believe someone would drop that amount of cash without trying to figure out why
You like them and I dont.
Aren't these opinions.
So if you expect me to respect your opinion dont bash mine.
I had 3 sets of these "superior shocks"
And each time, one of them leaked in less than 3-4 months.
But they are better than these "pos coilovers i picked"
I am not trying to **** on your parade but most of those companies are built exactly the same except for minor differences inside the shocks. They are mostly all made in the same manufacturing plants.AMR,F and F and Ksports.Just get a few pictures of each next to each other and the only differences are the colors and labels.I would go with whoever gives you the best customer support and technical assistance. You dont plan on riding dumped and you arent really looking for performance just ride quality get some softer spring rates and be done with it they will be just fine.
The functions ride like ****. I have those on my dd integra and no i dont ride dumped. I'm looking for a new set up for street comfort. Are koni/ground control the best ride?
Well nice thread jack lol
yes they are for that price range and they rival even the most expensive setups on the market when it comes to performance. Most of the ride quality/performance will be affected by spring rates. The stiffer the spring the harsher the ride usually.
