ABS hissing during bleeding process.
i'm trying to hunt down the cause of my soft pedal.
it came about a couple of seasons ago, i would go out for a session and once i got some heat in them they would get soft. they still worked, but they were soft. I found i had a crack in the base of my stoptech line. called and got another. thought it would be fixed. NO DICE. so i thought maybe im boiling fluid because my calipers aren't releasing, which would also explain my serious material transfer issues. So this year i purchased all 4 new calipers. picked up a newer master/booster combo all in hopes i get back my nice ITR brakes feel.
well here i am, week of the event just wrapped up this morning, and still not the pedal pressure it should be.
when bleeding the brake system you can hear a hiss noise that sounds like its coming out of the ABS unit. I used a stethoscope on all of the hardlines but couldn't quite pinpoint it.
has anyone heard of this happening? i am not familiar with how the ABS works internally so i don't know if there is either a way for it to be bled, or even reason to do so. is the noise im hearing just an external purge for the system?
any insight would be helpful as i'm trying to get to the redline time attack event this weekend.
-Mark - who's getting a little discouraged.
