Listing how much he wants to spend would be a good starting point.
That way you get people that have something in his price range to answer and weeds others that are outside of that price point. I'm sure that there are quite a few out there that have used tires, some better than others and so, prices will vary.
I've got a set that have less than 1k on them and they are used with the little nipples still on them.
