Midwest Caravan: The cruise to Import Alliance in TN
MAIN THREAD FOR THE MEET
Alright folks, here's the layout for the Journey, if you would like to participate/join in, please let me know by posting here. I'll keep a tab of how many people are showing at each checkpoint, so as not to lose anyone. Also, I'd like anyone who has any ideas on checkpoint locations, to PLEASE CHIME IN. I do not know the entire trip 100%, so it's not as if I know all the available park & rides, or decent places to pick up travelers.

Journey Section 3 Directions (automatically set to print): http://maps.google.com/maps?f=...&pw=2
Final Arrive Time at Stadium: 07:30 PM
PLEASE NOTE: I know that this looks like a little bit rough, but with this long of a journey, I think it's fairly accurate. I also know that not everyone will be able to pit stop at the same mileage, so feel free to drop off when necessary. I set it with 3 checkpoints for a reason. It gives a chance for those with more thirsty engines, a chance to catch breath and keep up. Once again, please throw ideas that are worth noting, at me. I'm up for suggestion.

wow i think you guys will have more problems taking I65 than I57. Most of you guys are coming from the chicago area. Just take I57 south till you hit the west kentucky parkway then take that till you hit the pennyrile parkway. Much easier and not as dangerous. And on top of that you can swing by where I live and hitch on with the rest our little caravan of 40-60 cars.

What kind of problems are you referring to? I've already located the stopping points as being directly off the highway, so it's not as if it's a far distance to drive to get to the highway. That, and I'm going by the route that Google Maps, Mapquest, and Yahoo Maps all suggested from my area, for transit.
Would 57 to 24 be similar in terms of speed, but easier for people to get to?

That was the goal of this thread. Are you going to be at either stop?

</TD></TR></TABLE> I just know that looking at your drive time of close to 12hrs. I make it to the chicago area in 6-7 hours from my house and its only an hour'ish to get to nashville from my house. And I figured that it would be cool for all of us to meet up and show up with lots of rides.

Well, it's a good 1 - 1 1/2 hours from Checkpoint one to Chicago, so I'd say that my 12 hours isn't far off, for an added 2 hours of waiting time for the checkpoints added up. It's 9hrs 55min. from my house to Nashville straight through, so 12 seems reasonable to me.

I figured Friday the 13th would be the better day to go, because that way we get the entire Saturday to enjoy people rolling in.

You asked where we were starting out, I said it's all there. Which, it still is, since Checkpoint 1 hasn't been altered.

Just be careful where you take him at night time. Might be some adult-ish parties. Otherwise, I think it'd be cool to have a nephew along.
