Trav, here is another resource to check out about our transmissions. I'm driving to Greensboro tomorrow to pick up a 90 si tranny for $120. Gonna do the differential test when I get there.

For some reason, this article says to put the tranny into 5th; not 1st...

Axle #1 has new bracketswelded on and gears and locker in, axle #2 almost done welding, gears and locker in. also have to weld the truss on. Can't wait to get them under the jeep, 25mpg and can pull a house is my kind of toy. Also 3 link rear suspension will be on its way here come thursday. So damn excited, i'll be one of the first people to get the kit before it becomes a retail part.

Now I have to sell my swampers so I can run my bfg's abd get some cash to buy 38's or 40's. Also starting my exo-cage in a week or two. This toy is so much more fun than the db was, I miss curves but not that much. Haha

Since they give you a mathematical equation to figure out the amount of turns the diff should make after you rotate the input shaft 10 times, you could really put it into any gear. I did pick up the tranny this morning. It spun easily when in 1st but I had trouble getting a consistent result from that method, but I was able to get my mark right around the 9 o'clock position a couple of times after spinning the shaft 10 times. When I get home with it later, I'll clean it up and try to see that PL3 stamp better. It looked like the bottom half was blank when I was looking at it up there. the gold sticker on the case also says L3-2XXXXX so its a 90-91 based on that, but I forgot to look for input shaft grooves. I'll go look at that in a few as well. If nothing else, I got a tranny off a running motor and the guy claims it is in good shape. He also threw in a starter which wasn't "that old" and he had a cargo cover for my hatch that he sold me for $19. Think I made out pretty good for $139

Here are some random shots I have taken with mom's d3100 since cleaning the motor. Just got the block sprayed.

Before (after EXTENSIVE CLEANING!)

Hit with simple green and pressure washer x2 today. Of course primed and painted:

And got bored while waiting on paint to dry so I got the dremel out. Still need to smoot it over 100%:

Put some funky paint on the dizzy cap. Will post in a bit for input!

I will gladly do yours. You buy supplies, I have pressure washer and simple green, you bring beer and we call it even!

Hood and trunk, for you (and anyone else on here), MEH....$500. $275 for trunk, $225 for hood.

Ugh, still at work. Went in a hour early and gave to stay 4 late, apparently my seniority doesn't mean **** to my manager. I'm supposed to be able to make the guys under me stay in my place if I dont want to, but since they are all **** ups and constantly break **** and/or don't show up to work i'm forced to do it. I'm really tired of busting my *** for a company just to get ahead of the pack and then get **** on and treated like a damn slave. Only for the retards to be let off easy and make almoat what I do and do 1/10th the work. Fvck corporations, im going to start selling crack and heroin and be my own boss. Haha /rant

Damn, that sucks Jon. At least you know they trust you to get the job done right. Eventually, they will have to start kissing your shoes...

Anyone got a line on a 4.25fd out of an L3 tranny?

Doubt it, Brandy (buddy of mine at work) is a lead tech like me, been there 13 years and still gets **** on daily. He's the best one there honestly and I just learned he only makes $1.85hr more than me. Thats all I have to look forward to, i'd have ti get a T&D degree or a AD in buisness to be a manager since they changed the rules.

I just got the highest classification you can get in a plant for my job and got lied to as far as pay rate. And i'm yet again the first person to ever get it in less than 18 months that's ever worked there. It's just like magna, except I drive farther to get lied to here. Have a interview at a local machine/off road shop tomorrow. I'll take less $ to enjoy what I do and be closer to home.
