Default Does anybody in here knows how to wire up a vtec?

I have a 89 crx si and i'm putting a d16z6 engine in it. Does anybody in here know how to wire up the vtec? how can i make it work? do i have to chance the ecu? please help i would really really appreciated if someone shows me how to do it. thanx in advance.

you can use a piggyback system like a vtec controller (vafc). but i think it would probably be just better/easier to get a p28 ecu, and get an obd1 conversion jumper harness. Then all you gotta do is run the wire from the vtec solenoid, threw the firewall, and connect it to the ecu.

go obd1 and get a p28.. do it right from the start bud.
