Default Battery getting overcharged

I just replaced my stock alternator for a 130 amp alt for my 90 Honda Civ DX. I also replaced my battery w/ a new one from Sears. Orig. the car had a 60 amp unit, but I wanted to increase the output to provide enought power to the extra lights, stereo and gadgets that are already on the car. Now I had Sears check to see that everything was working fine and they said that the alt. was overcharging the battery because there was green liquid (acid) coming out of the top of the battery. Has anyone out there replaced their alt. for a high amp one and what was theire experience....?

Any input is greatly appreciated!

its better just by using the original manufacutured alternator. due to excessive overcharging....the batter might blow up. i'm not trying to scare you but...i've seen some experiences...(the acid on the battery starts to bubble up and kabooooooooom!!) what you could of done was just get a higher cranking amperage on the battery. hope this answers you questions

isnt there some kind of 'voltage regulator' or something to limit it?

that i dont know.....but far as i was saying using a higher cranking amperage on the battery is better...when hooking up a whole sound system in your car...they have this module(i forgot what its called) but that reads and holds the voltages when using your stereo system. (correct me if i'm wrong guys)
