Default Temp gauge and speedo not working after ZC swap...

I've checked the connection to the tranny (original Si tranny) and the temperature sender unit (1 wire sensor directly above the oil filter). This is in a 91 Si.

I'm assuming the temperature sender is bad, so is there a good way to get that out? I tried swapping it with a known good sensor, but couldn't get the one on the motor out.

The tranny, I'm somewhat at a loss. It's mechanical, so there isn't that much that could go wrong, right? Also, I never disconnected anything beyond the actual gear end going into the tranny, so I don't think that got messed up.

Thoughts, please!

the one wire connector by the oil filter is the oil pressure gauge sending unit - the 2 wire connector by the oil filter is the cooling fan switch - the temperature gauge sending unit is one wire just below distributor on end of head - there is also a 2 wire temp sensor on the end of the head, next to the one wire, which is for the ECU

Holy crap, thank you. Hooking that up now.

The speedo sender I pulled out and replaced, but to no avail, still no speedo signal. ECU is throwing codes for both, will update soon on if the temp gauge works now.

take off the gauge cluster and watch the speedo cable and make sure the cable is spinning, even grab it while its spinning to make sure its solid, then make sure its plugged in the cluster well.
