Blown Clutch
Hey guys I blew my clutch over the weekend and I just bought an excedy Stage 1 clutchj and I was wondering if anyone would have a how to for this?? and if any one has done it how hard is it?? Keep in mind Iam in no big hurry to get it done because I am putting my car away for the winter so I can work on it slowly and take my time thanks alot guys
a friend of mine blew out my clutch 2 weeks ago. i bought the exedy stage 2 clutch, flywheel and phantom grip lsd. i had the work done at a local auto shop. If your already dropping the tranny I would think if i wanted any other parts for it.

Interesting... does the phantom grip improve anything noticably?

I have heard that phantom grip lsd is just that phantom. Sometimes its there and sometimes its not. Spend the extra cash and get the best rather then pay more up the *** when the cheap part gives out.

All i can say is if you don't have a lift, it's going to be hell. You have to drop that subframe before you even get to the tranny. Doing that alone can be very annoying without a lift.

i would also recommend a true lsd but theres about a $7-800 difference. the guy that installed it said it was a pain in the ***. theres alot of grinding down involved. and about $500 in labor i didnt know it was that involved or i would have gotten a real one.

If you put any aftermarket part on your car you can void the warranty, including an exedy clutch. Some dealers are very strict, others are more lenient. I know people with other hondas live by the Helms manual, so get one of them if they make them for the rsx, or some other shop manual. Based on your post, asking if anyone has ever replaced a clutch and if they have a how to, I think it's best you don't touch the car and let someone who knows what they are doing put in a new clutch for you.
