Start looking under REAL in the ITR archives. Plenty more.

To really check if its an itr motor i would.

1 Check the stamp on the block.
2 Check the stamp on the head, make sure its single runner intake manifold.
3 Check and see if the head is port/polished.
4 Take out a piston and see if its a itr piston.

This is if you are buying from a shady person. But if you buy from a reputable place, then you have less to worry about. I would be very weary about buying a 4-5 grand motor and not knowing its real.

i just found out pr3-3 stamped is either ITR head or b16 head. only differences is the intake ports and exhaust port. and internels. and if it says 98 on the block its a ITR head since they didnt make b16 blocks in that year

pr3-3 is not a b16 head, its a itr, if its a pr3-4 its a b16. And yes the p73 is a itr so ur right on that part.

Yea they make the motor in the year prior to the car being released. My engine is a 96 JDM ITR and the head says 95 but it was put into a 96' JDM ITR at one point.

All PR3's are B16 head(or casting for that matter). ITR says PR3 b/c all it is, is a B16 head w/ some mild porting and ITR cams and ITR valvetrain.

well then it must just say p73 on the head becaus my "b16" head sais pr3 3, i thi nk the pr3-x maybe the x is the group of years it was made or something

it sure could be a itr head on my car becaus i bought it with the bottom end fulley built and the owner left stuff out in the description, he didnt say there was a blowck guard installed either

the itr head has to say p73 on it if not pr3 4, i forgot what it said though i just had one in my garge, it was usdm type rhead
