Trying to get good at changing rear pads.. any tips?
Preface, I hate changing brakes. But I'd like to get it down to a 30 minute ordeal
The front pads can be changed by removing the lower 14mm bolt and rotating the caliper up to show the pads. Hooray.
The rears, I have to remove the 2 14mm bolts to remove the whole caliper and it's mount. And, I have been removing the 12mm bolt that holds the brake line in place to get it around the heat shield. I made a rear-caliper-screw-in-tool with a 3/4" copper pipe and a hammer (plus a dremel to round the edges, don't want to tear the rubber!)
I also use a bent coathanger to hold the rears in the air (by the spring) to avoid pulling on the brake line.
Anyone have a better method on the rears? I saw Magic Hat #9's post about taking a bolt off of the heat shield... I think I like my way better, it has more play with more slack in the brake line. But I never tried it that way, or at least not both ways in the same day.

pix are dead... but if you copy and paste the picture link into a new window the will work.
I remove the splash shield and the caliper... then pull it back and free.
my piston tool = large screwdriver.

Yeah, I read that article. I guess I'll try that.
