Car wont start, oil in plugs (Searched)
Im from the integra forum, but my friend has a 90 Accord 4cyl with 158k. The car is an automatic and has never really been beat on, and there have never been any mods done to it.
Well, today when he tried to start it, it just cranked without turning over, and i couldnt hear (or feel) any ignitions. So i open up the air filter (dirty, but passable) and tried again to no avail.
Next I tried the ignition. i pulled out the leads to the plugs from the valve cover, and cyliners 3 and 4 (the ones closest to the timing belt) had oil all over the rubber leads, and the plug was covered in oil, top and in the threads. (oil rings?!?)
So i cleaned them up, and put them back in, and cranked, and same result. So i removed plug 4, and i could smell gas (which makes me think the computer is up if the injectors are firing) but it was no longer covered in oil.
Now...i dont have an ignition tester, so i dont know if were getting a spark. And im thinking that the oil might have closed the gap on the plug, and shorted the coil out, frying it.
Anybody with experience on this, before i have to call a towtruck?

the oil on the plugs is probably not causeingthe no start. the rocker arm tower o-rings are leaking. for the no start chk for spark useing a screwdriver and grounding it while haveing someone cranking the car. if u dont have spark suspect a dist coil. another problem those cars have are bad main fuel relay to try and diagnose this just try starting the car and at the same time bang on the left side of the dash you will have to have the drivers door open to do this. if it starts then it is the main fuel relay. good luck.
you shouldnt have any problems from the oil being on the plugs i was burning almost 4 quarts of oil a week and the car still started and ran fine smoked a lot but ran fine
could all the plugs be fouled out? Seems unlikely to me, especially when there was only oil on 3 and 4.
And how much does the valve gasket seal kit go for (and how much work)
oh, and 4 quarts a week! thats insane! fill up the oil and check the gas!
