TDC/CKP sensors really bad?
I'm working on a 96 Accord EX wagon with 4-cylinder. The check engine light is on, and idle speed is too low with the A/C on. The check engine light blinks 8 times when I check for codes. The Honda manual says Code 8 indicates a bad TDC and/or CKP sensor. The manual says the resistance of each of the sensors should be 0.5 - 1.0 K ohms, but my sensors measure 2.6 K ohms. Are these sensors really bad? I doubt they are, because I doubt that each sensor would fail and measure exactly the same resistance. I suspect something else is wrong. Can I get a Code 8 because of too low idle caused by another problem? I checked the IAC (idle air control) valve, and it seems to be functioning. Any help would be much appreciated.
