Idle problems on cold starts
I have a 1993 Civic that I swapped the stock D15 back into the car after a few months with a B16. On cold starts, it idles very rough and wants to die. If I keep on the throttle a bit, the idle jumps up to about 1300 RPM and the check engine light turns on. The car can be drivable at this point. If I turn it off and turn it back on again, there is NO idle issues and the Check Engine Light does NOT turn on.
I've read the CEL code, and it was four short blips, meaning the Crank Position Sensor. But I had replaced the distributor about a year ago; and if it was that sensor, then I wouldn't be able to drive it after the engine warms up.
At a total loss, any info will help. Thanks!
Travis.

Re: Idle problems on cold starts
This may seem off the wall. My 2000 ex had the same issue. But it gradually started getting worse. The CEL code was also crank sensor then idle air control valve. After a ton of headache(like replacing everything, blah blah) I simply decided to replace the alternator. I had it tested and it was fine, but if I turned the pulley by hand I could feel a little scratch every now and then. So I installed a new one and it never happened again. It really pissed me off.
