Default recommendations for 6.5" sub and speakers w/ OEM head unit.

I don't know jack about audio. My speakers suck. I want some decent replacements that will work will with my stock CD player. I like things simple, no amps, crossovers, tweeters,...

So what do you guys recommend for the fronts? rears?
I was thinking either Infinity or Pioneers for the fronts.
Are there good 6.5" subs that I can fit in the car that will work good on a stock head unit?

thanks.

infinity speakers sound weak IMO unless you have a powerful amp

to sound good you really need an amp. If I were you I'd just buy some good quality 6.5s and hook up an amp to them. I have 2 Infinity kappa 6.5s w/ a 75 watt amp and it sounds pretty good to me. Without the amp it didnt sound good at all.

i really dont want an amp in my car. the stock head unit gets loud enough. i never even had it up all the way.

so pioneers better than infinitys?

How much do you want to spend? By giving us a price range, it is much easier to help/direct you.
