Default crankcase breather filter?

What does the majority of people do with their crank case breather, direct it back into the charge pipes or vent it? or is either ok? I seem to be getting alot of smoke coming out and its coming thru the firewall on the car!!! at the mo its vented.

Thanks in advance

Do NOT vent it into a charge pipe, because it will become pressurized under boost. If you have an intake tube between the inlet on the turbo and the air filter, tap that, it will suck the vapor away from the valve cover.

use a filter and vent it

or rout it to a catch can, and the other line to the back of the block to the catch can also, and vent the can to the atmosphere

You can route it from the valve cover to a catch can and then back to the inlet pipe going into the turbo. Or just go form the valve cover to the intake pipe going into the turbo. If you're getting excess smoke, you may have another problem. I never had much smoke if any when I was running a breather filter.

Catch can or breather would be your best choice.

My understanding was that the breather wouldn't work on the block, because there is no vacuum to pull the blow-by vapors out.

Anyone have more info on this?

The crankcase under WOT will have positive pressure for the same reason the valvecover does under WOT. So it'll work

If the link doesn't work for you, go to the site and search part number ACA-IN-H112.
