Default Clutch noise / Tons of exhaust smoke

my clutch makes grinding noises that are really loud that i can hear over my exhaust. its not like grinding but like its hitting the shell. its so loud on first and second gear. this happens i would say 40% of the time. Now i just got a new clutch put in last week. i thought the noise would be gone......NOW ITS TWICE AS LOUD!!!! will this go away? what is the problem is it hitting the housing? how is it only somtimes and only when im accelerating. when i let go of the gas pedal its goes away. when im sitting there idleing i can hear it. as soon as i press the clutch everythign is so quiet you cant even hear teh motor. its driving me insane.......and then there is alot of smoke i mean ALOT of smoke that comes out of my exhaust. 4 inch colums of smoke coming out. the smoke is white so that means im not running rich. but man....i feel bad for people who are behind me in traffic......so what does all taht smoke mean im burning oil? thx guys

im tearing up with laughter.
It's bad that its making that noise.

definately your throwout bearing - i've never replaced one so i'll leave that to someone else to explain (could you explain syncro replacement while youre at it)
A search will also answer these questions im sure.

The whiter the exhaust smoke, the more water it is. Put your hand infront of the pipe, see the water dripping off your hand? Well thats how much coolant is being lost and if you dont refill it (sounds like every day for you) your car will overheat.
Check oil everyday too, they're probably mixing.

Both headgasket and throwout bearing should be replaced immediately!

I'm thinking with the help of a knowledgable friend, you could replace your headgasket so long as the car has NEVER overheated.

If its gotten hot before, you'll need to resurface the head. You could bring the head to a machine shop in your area yourself, but at this point i believe if you've got the money to spend, just take it to a shop and have them take care of it. Less hassle.
And if it has overheated and you dont surface the head, replacing the headgasket will be a monthly thing for you.

This will take a good shop a day, 2 max. They know the problems, they order the parts ahead of time, they drop the head at the machine shop to be picked up the morning of day 2. They have it together by noon on day 2. $600?

man...throwout bearing just got replaced last week why is it still messed up....im begining to think they ripped me off. i had to take it back to the shop 3 times caue first time they forgot to screw in my REAR MOTOR MOUNTS!!!!!! and lost distribitor bolt and chips in paint! but car is going back tomarrow again....for the bearings....now as for ton sof smoke i think i over did it. What i meant is that during the day you cant really see much smoke. i put on a "high flow cat" which doesnt have a brick. so more flow goes through....does that have anything to do with it? the only time i really see lots of smoke is when its cold out. i really dont want to buy and replace a head gasket..funds are low as it is....

it's the input bearing in the trans, just had it happen to my integra. If it makes noise when clutch is engaged(pedal out) the trans is spinning with the motor and when the pedal is depressed, clutch disengaged, it goes away be cause tranny is no longer spinning with engine. You may only be able to hear it in first and second gear but its doing that all the time. If you dont replace it soon you might be replacing alot more than a $20 input bearing. I drove the integra for a month like that and now the trans is sitting on the work bench waiting for; differential carrier bearings, fifth gear, fifth gear syncros, mainshaft bearing, that thing that aligns with the case, and the bearing in the case. $20 in parts went to $400+ in parts really quick. Fix it ASAP. As far as the white smoke, sounds like head gasket, take off radiator cap and start engine see if bubbles are coming up.

the tranny noise is your input shaft bearing. the fact that it goes away when the clutch is disengaged would attest to that, as if it were the throwout bearing it would make noise when you pushed the clutch in.

does the smoke linger or does it go away like steam would? if it stays and makes huge clouds going down the road you need new rings, probly a new block if its doing it that bad. if it goes away pretty quickly, then you have a headgasket sealing problem.same deal. get it fixed soon, as if the oil and water mix your bearings could go to ****.

if there are ANY bubbles, you have a blown head gasket. yes you have to fix that soon.

Explained: The only way air gets into your coolant system is through the head, the cylinder pushes air in and in turn, sucks coolant into the chamber and burns it.

And yes, sometimes its cheaper to replace the whole thing than to fix one part. Its not cheaper if you're smart enough to fix it yourself, but frankly you sound like a complete idiot.
