for bumping an 8 year old thread.Even the 96-97 F series VTEC don't use a knock sensor. IIRC it's the 98+ F23 VTEC Accords that have a knock s.

yea 94-97 models don't have knock sensors because the compression ratio are ~9.x:1 anyways so 87 octane is sufficient for the f series engines

I have a 2002 Honda Accord 2.3 vtec motor just replaced still getting the knock sensor error and I have replaced the knock sensor. car was checked at trans shop cause of shifting issues after the motor replace (connector was off) is there somthing that they or I am missing to do or to have done when we switched out the worn out motor with the other one? The knock sensor color is GREEN if that matters, help running out of money fast

reset ecu see if the code comes back... unless you did that already.
