I want the glass top!!! where can i get one? who's done the install? any complaints or advice?

check ebay there are always one or 2 on ther you are going to spend alot though.

 

I'd say at least a $1000 for a legit OEM Roof. That's just the primed, no glass just the metal. I have always wanted one to. I hope your good with body work or have deep pockets.

 

Yeah i dont want to spend over $600, someday i'll find one at that price. Considering i've never seen one, i cant imagine the demand is that high.
The roof cutting will be a synch, cut bend presto. Just gotta do the measurements right and make the cuts right. Plasma cutter would help.

Other than getting the complete roof section (cut off at the door jams), wouldn't it be cost prohibitive? (I'd like to build one and gave it a bunch of thought)

Think about this; in order to do it correctly you would have to have the glass, the metal area that surrounds it, a different head-liner, all the trim pieces that surround the glass. It's a ton of small items.

fabrication my friend, fabrication. Its not about getting the lil pieces, its about making them. I would cut the headliner and roll the fabric to look clean. I'm pretty sure seating the glass would be a breeze considering the ammount of sheet metal one would have to leave as a shelf for the glass piece. get a clean seal and wala.

 

That picture form ebay is just the glass motor and whatever tracklever stuff is there. It is not the sheet metal that will make it work.

 

ok i'm gona sound like a retard but i didnt know it had a mechanism to it to make it do something i thought it was just a glass piece. I think i'll just make a lexan piece for the roof and stick it in. cheaper.
