Stock Intake Question

Default Stock Intake Question

Hi, My friend has a 2000 Honda Accord V6 4 door. and we were taking off his stock intake and found this plastic thing hanging from the intake tube. I or my friend neither knows what this is. can anyone describe what it is for me and describe what it does. is it ok if we take it off or not? thanks.



what is this???

I believe it acts to quiet down the intake. You can take it off without any problems

philadd is right. I used to call it "ears and antlers." Before I got my intake (metal pipe), what I did was took them "ears and antlers" off, cover the holes and put an aftermarket air filter on the end of my stock intake.

its a resonator.....jsut makes it quiet

Go to lowes and go to the hardware department and get plugs to fill the holes.

I believe that is the intake resonator. I removed that from my 96 ex, I love my new sound
