im getting a very good price on some used 4-1 dc headers, but the falange was cut off because they thought they would need it when they went turbo, how difficult would it be to just weld a new one on and where would i get one from i can just use my stock one?
I could be done I suppose. It will be pretty tight to welld around the tubes while they are all in position.
Some suggestions:
~If there is any ceramic coating or rust on the flange or tubes you would have to remove it before welding.
~You could probably use any cyl head flange that matches your engine and the header.....you may have to do some work to get the tubes to line up correctly.
~Maybe try using a thicker cyl head flagne to compinsate for the material lost whey they cut off the old flange.
~the stock falgne is cast iron and would be difficult to weld properly to those tubes.

i had a feeling somone was gonna correct me on that, well it seems like more work then i thought, but for the price it might just be worth it, $40
I had my dad's friend help me out with this, it was tough, aligning the flanges, it took us a total of 3 1/2 hours to create both flanges(for the exhaust end and the header end), if you are good with a cutter,
but if not, i wouldn't suggest you to do it
