Help.... Redline?
Hey guys I SEARCHED but no luck. I have a 90 CRX Si with only an I/E
K check this out. When i start the car up in the morning or after the motor had a great enough time to chill out... and go take it out for a spin, of course letting the car warm up just a bit, the car Redlines (fuel cutoff) at 6800 - 7200. BUT! After driving around for like 5 mins the motor Redlines at 7600-7800. The Car sounds great when high in revs. It also seems like around 6200 a little kick of power carrys all the way through to 7800 RPM. Is that strange?? Is there anyone else going through the same thing? Help me!

Not sure about your car but mine has a low temp rev limiter that raises when the oil temp is up to 60degC iirc. I have a b16a1 by the way and it also stops the vtec coming in. Iirc there is something similar on the UKDM 16v version but I'm not to up on how your cars logic works. Worth looking in that direction I'd say.

D16A6.... should be 6500 redline.... 7200 fuel cut rev limiter.... at least thats what we found on the dyno. if you throw a check engine light it usually disables it!
alright well i also walked the rpm up to 7800. So i didn't race it up there. Can it Be off that bad? Remember when my car is cold yes Fuel Cutoff is exactly 7200 Rpm but let me warm it up i get get it to 7800 Rpm.

i dont think that is entirely true....because i am running the pm6 ecu on my d16y7 and i take it up to 6800, and rev limiter is 7200...
