Default installed valve springs/retainers/cams today

whats up. well today i finally installed my CROWER stage 2 cams and valvesprings and retainers. let me tell u, it was a complete bitch to remove and install the valve springs and retainers. i did the install with the head still on the car (used compressed air to keep the valves up) i started the job at around 10 am and finished installing all the valve springs and retainers at 11 pm!!!!! well i did take alot of breaks cuz that **** was pissing me off. plus i had to fix some other cars. but i would NEVER do that again. i rather pay the $200 to have someone install them for me. i had to use a replica snap on valve spring compressor tool that i made to take the springs out. damn B18 heads are so tight. theres no room to work in there.
well the cars still not done yet. i got all the spring/retainers in, new water pump and timing belt, and the cams are in. all i need to do is put on the valve cover, timing belt cover, crank pulley and alternator belt.

if anyone has ever installed the springs in the head themselves then they know the hardship's i went through today.... never again

Never did it with the head on for a b series but I can imagine. I've done it on BBCs with the head on. It is usually not too bad if you have the proper tools. But I could imagine it was a pain. I know I have big hands and those springs/retainers/locks/seals are so damned small.

hmm...odd, i just installed valve springs, retainers on my buddy's teg not too long ago and it was easy as heck. we used this magnetic tool to remove and install the retainer clips and also used compressed air to hold up the valves. we were using this special tool that my buddy bought as well to compress the valve springs down. that damn tool is my next investment!!
