Just finish my jdm type R swap into ek, need some help
ok guys Im new to the itr motors so give me a break....sorry if the questions been ask before....
I just finish my swap with a 96 jdm b18c type R into ek....finally...but the rpm is a bit high. If i go 80mph...the rpm sits at 4500...is this right? I have a teg gsr and 80 sits roughly around 3800-4000 no higher. I just feels like the motor working to hard....im not sure if its due to the transmission becuase of the short gear ratio......
also when Im slowing down in neutral position at bout 5-10 mph coming to a stop, the rpm sits at 1500 until i come to a complete stop and then it sits at 1000. I just assume once you go into neutral it automatically sits around 7-900 rpm.
Not sure if the ecu has something to do with it...Im running a p73 usdm ecu...with a few left over codes i have to fix....code 91 definitly.....

Yeah, the RPM's at that speed would be high, I believe the 97 JDM ITR's had 4.4 final drive. But the idle thing coming to a stop...that's completely normal for type R's. Your swap sounds fine, I wouldn't worry at all
I have the same engine in my car and at 80 mph the RPM should be at 4000.
It sounds kinda of high to me, try clearing all you codes and see if it still does that.

lol... sounds like you have a gsr tranny..
my experance has been (and only with usdm tranny's)
gsr @ 70mph = 3500
ITR @ 70mph = 4100 ish
so your about right, have fun with your motoR

stock usdm itr tranny:
4400rpm @ 80mph 4.4 final drive ratio
jdm itr tranny:
is a 4.7 final drive ratio. It would probably be @ 4700rpm @ 80mph or so is my guess without using a drive ratio calculator.
ats fd is 4.928. should be sitting around 5000 rpm @ 80mph.
You swap seems fine to me.

I think, but i'm not sure, one of my friends has the ats final, and i think he sits at 4000 at 60 so that sounds about right.
