Default Wow, very overwhelming. Where do i start?

Maybe Im in the wrong place. In about two weeks from now i am recieving an automatic 1989 honda civic, 4 door. Im very interested in the entire tuning scene, more or less aesthetics. I am wondering if this car is too old, or maybe just the wrong model to add body kits to. If anyone could point me in the right direction or anything at all like that, i would greatly appreciate it.

If you're looking into appearence modifications only you're in the wrong section. This is mainly for maintenance, performance, and all other non-aesthetics.

Check the appearence section here: https://honda-tech.com/zeroforum?id=47
Otherwise check the pics thread here: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=237599 ...maybe for some ideas!

They make plenty of body kits for the sedan, and although I'm not a fan of the body kits, the selection is still there. Everything from Wings West to Custom Kits are out there. Search Ebay! to start. Search for 88-91 Civic Sedan etc.etc. If you just search for civic most of the things you end up finding are hatchback and CRX parts. A little sorting is necessary because the sedans aren't the popular model for modifacations.

The Civic Sedan didn't have any sports models. They came in "luxury" (if you can call it that) and the cheaper models. You can, however, make these things haul just as much as the hatch's or rex's. The engine components are the same. Your differences will be in the body and interior. You're going to have a slightly uphill battle for performance modifacation being a heavier sedan and automatic, but it's all possible!

All the luck to you and welcome to H-T!

damn, i wish i was "receiving a car"...lol.

i think the sedans are dope when properly done. i've seen some that are real hot, and mostly shitty riced out ones.

...if you're trying to get your foot into the "super phat import tuner scene", then hang around this board. people are real good here at telling you what to do and what not to do to your car (rice).

peace, god bless, and **** your mother.

Depends on what kind of aesthetics you are looking for. If you're looking for a really clean stock style kit you're cars not to old. But '89 is a little old to pull of that bling bling tuner look.

Anyone have that pic of the super clean 4 door EF with the JDM front end?

I have an 89 dx 4 dr. Working on switching from DPFI to MPFI right now. These cars are very tunable, you just have to know where to get the right parts.

Keep the car looking decent and focus your time on the motor/suspension. I like the oem look, with a far from stock motor. Make it a sleeper. My $.02

It's hard for me to be visually impacted by the sedan, but someone on here has got this flat black sedan that looks sick.

Its only a matter of time before that car is posted after somebody mentions sedans.
