Default Anything Wrong with 2.25 piping to 2.5 muffler? SOUND??

Kteller, due to the recent storm have mess up my order. I order a magnaflow oval 2.25 muffler but instead receive the 2.5 magnaflow oval stainless steel. Havn't call kteller since this is a more expensive product than the 2.25 mild steel and I don't really want to ship this thing back if i don't have to.

I m currently running 2.25 piping to a 18" resonator to the 2.25 dynomax superflow with stock cat. This is a great setup and the sound is very DEEP/no rasy at all. However, in highway going 80 @ 3.5k, interior done is BAD. I think the S design in the superflow is causing the done. Anyways, i couldn't stand it.

With alot of research, i went ahead and order a 2.25 magnaflow mild steel oval since i was going to paint it black anyways. Today i recieve a 2.5 magnaflow SS from kteller. Stainless steel is going to waste since i m painting it black but rust prevent is good .

My question is: how will the sound affect from a 2.25 piping to a 2.5 muffler? Better or worst? Any experience please help. Thanks in advance

There shouldnt be that much of a differnece if its only the muffler. Now if it was pipping then youll hear a big difference to it.

tru..i am thinking it shouldn't make that big of difference b/c it's only 1/8th big all around.

Thanks for replying, any more thought?

Yeah you should be fine, I have custom bent 2.25'' piping with no resonator with a 2.5" Magnaflow oval race series muffler painted black and mine is fine no raspy sounds or anything like that, but really deep. It isn't that loud but it does drone alittle on the interstate, but it is not that bad at all. But that is most likely because I have no resonator I think. But I think you should be fine.

No I wish I don't have my accord anymore. No this is on my 96 Civic Hatch with the stock D16Y7 motor.
