no reverse help..

Default no reverse help..

i got a 89 dx hatch with a d16z6 and a a6 tranny it was runnin fine and strong until this morning..it was unable to go into reverse...i did a search for this and didnt find alot of info bout this..what might cause this to happen? and i also read that d series trannys esp the 88-91 trannys shrynchros go bad? anyproblems or solutions? i check tranny fluid and it full what else can i do to save it

your reverse lockout could have gotten messed up...
don't know of any way to diagnose with the tranny in..

ealier when my friend was drivin it he told me it went into reverse..so i guess when the tranny likes me it will go into reverse and when it doesnt like me it wont go in reverse..weird tranny i have...it has it days and times...

buy your tranny some flowers and chocolate and have make up sex. It'll prob go into reverse all the time after that

theres no synchros on the R gear
it just slides into the mainshaft where 3,4,5 are
try putting the car on 4th first, to slow down the rotation of the internals on the tranny prior to putting it on R......

your clutch cable may need tighted? does it grind?

If your trying to go from 5th to reverse that could be your problem..

I find that going into fifth, then neutral, then let go of the clutch, put it back in and go into reverse, basically double de-clutch from fifth to reverse. That usually does it for me.
