3rd grinds

ok i just got my b16 swap done in my rex. at first the clutch pedal kept sticking in so i adjusted the clutch cable and that stopped teh sticking but now it grinds when i shirt into 3rd at high RPMs what is it? is it a bad syncro or do i need to adjus tthe clutch cable more? also it didnt do it b4 i adjusted the clucth cable.

hmmmm so adjust it back! I hear 3rd gear grinds is quite common, however, mine doesn't do it. It seems to be a trait of B16A swaps.

Ahh that must be it. I have the front tranny mount on mine. Someone was saying that it's not needed but I guess it is if you don't want to grind going in 3rd!

i have a rear mount tho. wont that help or no? also taht syncromesh stuff what is that. sry if thats a dumb question i dont know a whol lot on trannys.

syncomesh is just tranny oil. in some cases it solves slight grinds but now always. Its worth a shot its only 10$ a quart i believe.

lol... lets see.

"alot of b16 swaps have 3rd gear grinds"

now how many of those are using a pre made mount kit like hasport or hcp.

installing a good front mount fixed the 3rd gear grind..

do i see a possible pattern?

i have a pre-made mount kit from AZ Mach.Desn., and i use syncromesh. No grinds here

syncromesh try it it stopped my tranny from grindin

i dont see how the front mount will change anything

I have the third gear grind, but I'm still running on my stock a6. Going to try the syncromesh, hopefully that'll help.

We put GM Synchromesh in my friends civic and it stopped the grinding in his h22 hatch. Give it a try.
