has any one ever put a non-honda engine in there 4th Gen civic or crx? I'm talking extreme like a porsh 911 engine or a V6 or somthing from a SUV.
I've never heard of a porche engine or anything "suv" motors put into a honda.
The easiest non-honda swap would be from another front wheel drive platform.
I've seen pics of sr20dets(from jdm fwd bluebird) and 4g63s(from eclipse/talon) into civics, but after you've spent the extra money for fabrication, its not really worth it, imo.

Maybe for the recognition of doing so (i.e. V8 Rexs)... but non-honda swaps are so much work/money/fabrication that it's never worth it. The SR20DET from the JDM Nissan Sylvia FWD is the only thing I've even heard about attempted... but never seen.
If you wanna try something insane with tons of fab and thrown money, try getting the S2000 motor rear mounted into a civic/crx. Then you win... forever.
In sort of related stuff, I've seen rear-engine delSol's. Anyone have a pic or thread of that... I'd just like to stare at it.
