awd civic
what is the possibility of a swap with the civic wagons awd drivetrain(I know don't flame about the added weight, I am interested for the aggressise driving and addec control that this system could potentially deliver), or if this would not work how about getting a 90 integra and trying to import the AWD system from the early integra???
for now I am jsut thinking of futur possibilities, what are your opinions
if anyone has any info or pic about such a swap please post.

Hmmm....I am sure with the right amount of money it could be done. It is going to take a lot of custom fabrication. Find yourself a good fab shop or if you feel like it do it yourself if you have the skills and tools. It would be pretty cool as a rally setup.
All of the early AWD systems in Hondas are crap....They only provide power to the rear when they sense slip and even then its only maybe 10 percent to the rear wheels...If you put any real power to this system itll break...
DSM or Subaru components would be the only ones i would use in a AWD system...

my thoughts are that a swapped AWD wagon, even if you got the drivetrain worked out so that it would fit, would junk itself on a hard take off.
and i wouldnt start thinking about the CRV AWD drive either.... the system just doest look strong enough to take that kind of abuse. but who knows....
just my opinion,
Jason

There was a civic posted on Superhonda.com a while back that had a crv tranny and drive train setup so it has been done before. And like that guy above posted it can be done with the right amount of money

I'll be looking to sell my 88 Mazda 323 GTX somewhat soon.
It's not a Honda, though, but its still strong @ 186K miles, and has been run on Mobile 1 since it was very young.
Only real problem is the second gear syncro.
Just passed it's VA safety and emissions inspections.
IM me if anyone's interested.
now, back to our regularly scheduled program....

I saw this on the crx resource before..something like 20% to the rear wheels, can't take much stress, too costly, etc. I think someone had a link where someone actually did it wished he never did. A real awd system would be nice though around town, I dont know about on the freeway
