Default Supercharger vs. Turbocharger on B16A2 in a 99 Civic?!

With winter comming I am getting some ideas for next summer. I plan to drop a b16a2 in my Civic EX It will be a daily driven car so I want something reliable and with all around good response. I definately want some forced induction becuase Im looking to outrun as many mustangs as possible I love speed.
My two top choices were the Vortech Supercharger Kit or the FMAX Turbo Kit

I dont really know much about superchargers so the comparison is hard for me to make. I just recently drove a turbo civic and the response was terrible at the beginning but when the turbo kicked in it was fast. I think that might hve just been an improper install though. I really like the look of the intercooler and the sound of the blow off valve so I was leaning toward the turbo but any info would help thanks everyone!

i think the turbo is a better route because you have allot more expandability after the purchase thats just my 2 cents

ps you forgot the s in porSche in your screen name

Turbo all the way. Much more fun and probably more reliable. I personally would not get the fmax turbo kit but thats just me. Before you decide check out the turbo kits on full-race.com or the cheapturbo.com turbo kit

matters what u want turbo will give more power in the end and can be easily made to give more power but the SC will give you the power right off the line and I'd say is better for an autocross/road racing type. But if your the drag type go turbo!

you can run an intercooler and a bov with the vortech blower too, just fyi

Turbo's are usally always more efficient in the long run

Don't waste you money on a supercharger...turbo all the way...check out cheapturbo.com and there peak boost kit....if your looking to out run mustangs dont look at the fmax kit it will only give you minor thrills over stock.

I say keep the SOHC and get it built and throw a turbo on it. it will be easy, cheap, and fast.

Power off the line with a vortech blower? lol.

Low RPM power with the vortech blower is non existant. It isn't fun to drive on the street because you don't feel a surge of power or like it's very fast, it feels like a hardcore built to the max N/A motor, with a bit more top end. I sold my vortech blower for a huge loss, and I could not have been happier to not have it on my car anymore. I was glad to get rid of it, but totally regretted buying it in the first place. Go turbo, trust me. I've seen it from both sides.

Okay to understand S/C there are certain ones for honda the screw and the roots (I think) and the centrifigal.

1. Centrigal have lag like turbos and there basically a turbo that runs on a belt. They also look like turbocharger. They dont' produce high low end torque but they do @ high end.

2. Roots s/c create alot of heat and + I dont know any for honda's.

3. Screws are more ideal cause they don't create all that heat and they produce high low end torque to mid range but leave you hanging up top. Screw dont have any lag its instant power. Which is not as good as it sounds seeing how fwd and traction dont mix.

I regret not getting a turbo over the very expensive and even more expensive to modify over 300hp Vortech sc.

Just think of a twin screw supercharger as turbo on belts but no lag.

Need to get more boost change the pulley.

Kenne bell s/c make 700 HP on cobra's @ 2.5 the TQ instantly jumps to 737 ft lbs

But I think turbos are more of top end kings.
