If i had $10k, i'd swap out the head. Throw on a t3/t4 turbo with a full internal build, cams etc w/tune $5k. Do some extensive suspension work like better rotors/pads and sticky tires $1k. Or do a 5lug conversion! The rest of the left over money i'd buy a decent DD and garage your EM1. Even though you live in Kansas, i assume from your info. There are just too many thieves out there.

i agree with this guy.. if you are gonna do a kswap and you are expecting to blow vetts then dont be disapointed.. mustangs all day but you can do that with a b series motor.. you have a em1 not that much havier than a hatch but it makes a diffrence(unless your gonna rip your interior apart). If you plan on doing a k20 with boost then its not really a good DD that motor will be gone from all the stress in like 2 years.. keep a k20 n/a save up some more money and get it built.. then you can boost with out a problem, remember there is a big diffrence in the k series motors just like b series, some are ment to be kept n/a like the b18cr and the k20a

you can beat older mustangs in a stock d series turbo setup easily. just build a b and turbo it... its cheaper to build then a K. you blow the K up you up shyts creek for another $3-5k motor. they do withstand more hp in stock form~400hp vs ~300hp on a b series stock. then you can takle the rest of the 10g's to buy suspension goodies like traction bar/radials/brakes etc...just keep it simple and clean

But why would he do that? It would make too much sense to have the F22's torque and low compression stock with the B16 trans. It wouldn't be JDM enough.

build the b16 for turbo.
once you go boost, you never go back.
why would you swap to a K20? super chargers are a waste on 4 cylinders

Fully built JRSC. LHT Intercooled, sleeved GSR block, GSR intake cam, ITR exhaust cam, Hondata base map, Comptech ICEbox, Kamikaze 4-1 header, K-Teller 2.5" piping, Vibrant 2.5" Stealth Muffler. Run 12psi or more. You'd probably still be able to pocket cash for your suspension. In my opinion, a Jackson Racing supercharger is best on 4 cylinders, you have a way more even power curve than a turbo, meaning power when you want and not waiting for it to spool. And with the above combo, you'd be making HP numbers comparable to a turbo. The problem with superchargers are people just slap them on and expect great things, you have to tune tune tune with appropriate intake and exhaust modifications.

Don't forget 750cc injectors and high-flow fuel pump. Your car won't only be fast as **** but very reliable. Hell if you have enough swap out that tranny for an ITR one. I'd love to see ANY car race a Civic tuned as I stated above, the problem is you don't see many supercharger owners making the best out of them as you see turbo owners making the best out of turbos.

My $.02
keep the b16
rods/pistons/sleeved
headwork (valves,springs,retainers,cam)
clean quite exhaust w/ electric cutout
LSD in your tranny or a ITR Tranny
billet turbo w/ all supporting mods
you would still be prolly under 10k and making 500+ whp

Re: i have a 99' civic si.........d
HE WANTS TO KEEP IT AS A DAILY.
i think you should just get a full type R swap
do the basics, like exhaust, headers, intake, cam gears,
Edelbrock or Skunk2 intake manifold, MSD, fuel rail etc etc.
then put the rest of your money on makin the car complete.
like paint, rims, tires, lips, etc etc. whatever your taste is.
these people are telling you to build a car like crazy, if your drivin
it with those mods as a daily your car aint really gonna last unless
you maintain it real good. Just sounds like you want it fast and dependable. :/

i would agree too, but he wants to be able to beat a vette in a race, and this will not do that.

Re: i have a 99' civic si.........d
If he followed the steps I listed above he would have an extremely fast and very reliable vehicle. JRSC > turbo when it comes to reliability, and especially if the block is sleeved, the SC is intercooled and the whole motor is tuned on hondata.
