Default Mystery Oil Smell, HELP

Its been two weeks now of trying to trace this down,

1.no visible oil anywhere on the motor or pan
2.happens at random, driving slow or fast in or out of boost, usually only smells at stoplights sometimes
3.absolutely no blowby or smoke from anywhere on the car
4.venting block with endyne setup
5.not even a hint of smell detected at the tailpipe, running testpipe full 3"

If my oil return was backing up or turbo seals were flooding, I would think there would be smoke or at least a hint of oil smell from the tailpipe or turbo itself. I really don't wanna pull the downpipe is their another option.

I'm also useing the GE oil filter sanwich to feed the turbo

My only suspect's are the filter sandwich and oil return

Does anybody have any input on this, or ideas

I have actually been having the same problem. I can't find oil anywhere. My oil drain had a leak at first and spilt alittle oil on my downpipe but I fixed it and that was about a month ago. But I can't find anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ok, I just got back from a little test drive. I could not get it to duplicate the oil smell for ****, no leaks or anything.

Maybe I'm just asking my turbo honda to act to much like a stock car.

Hell, I don't know, it still pulls like a freakin jet though

How's your dipstick holding up? Mine burnt up and I "think" I had a little oil spatter on my exhaust manifold.

my crx made that smell and i finally found that a very small amount of oil was coming out of the turbo and was burning off right away so i could never find it. Mine did it only when beat on and when i would come to a stop i could smell it. hope that helps

Bump it up
I pulled the charge piping off of the turbo and for a very small amount of residue in the cold side.

Do you think this is a feed line issue, its -3an, should I try a restrictor in the line?

Or should I redo the return line first, I think I'm going to make it a little shorter if possible

I hope the turbo seals didn't take a **** on me, It's a brand new turbo with only 600 miles on it, besides the amount of oil found was very small, and I had no smoke at all.

I just wanted to end this thread, I found the problem. I made my oil return a little bit shorter.

The main thing was I was over filled with oil a bit and it was backing up the return line just enough that when stopped on the right angle slope, a tiny bit would toast off from the turbo, never enough to smoke or for me to be able to smell it by the time I got the hood open.

Thing to remember, do not over fill your turbo car with oil

And from now on when I do oil changes I'm gonna unhook the return from the pan and fill it up until it just barely drips from the pan fitting
