Default t3/t4 turbo, boost leak

I just recently put a drag turbo kit on my gsr, when I make full boost i hear a lot more noise then usual coming from the turbo...it seems like its leaking out the 5 bolt flange on the down pipe. Is there suppose to be a gasket in between the exhaust side of the turbo and the flange? or is it suppose to be metal to meta?....i had the downpipe and flange custom welded, and i dont think they put a gasket in. I also looked around online and couldnt find any gasket made for that 5 bolt downpipe flange. Anyone know where I could find a gasket if i do need one?

There is no gasket in between the turbine and 5 bolt dp flange.

There are two things I am guessing you are hearing

1) The wastegate dumping open under heavy load

2) An exhaust leak at the flange. Sometimes people weld a little too hot and that can tend to warp the 5 bolt flange. You can always remove your dp and have a machine shop deck it for you to eliminate minor warpage. Now if you don't want to do this, you can always make your own gasket. Look for a sheet of metallic like high temp gasket and just trace the 5 bolt flange and cut it out. That can take care of minor warpage up to about 30 or so thou.

thanks....if it were leaking would I be reading a steady 7lbs of boost? becuase now i dont know if thats the problem....because come to think of it i had the boost gauge is hooked up to the intake manifold, so its def. getting 7psi into the motor....but the car just isnt pulling when I make boost....it feels like an n/a gsr. It reads a steady 7 lbs every time, which is what my boost controller is set for
