Would a '01 Type R ecu work on my '00 Civic Si without any modifications done to the ecu? I think I heard someone talking about removing something from the Type R ecu in order to make work. Thanks.
The '00-'01 USDM ITR ECUs have an immobilizer in them that will not allow your car to run unless you have the necessary immobilizer parts in the steering column along with the right key.
But, I have heard of people removing the immobilizer from the '00-'01 USDM ITR ECUs.

What about the 97 ITR ecu? What is the Vtec crossover on those? Also do they have the immobilizer too? I want to get it because I am running CTR cams with CTR pistons. It would match better than the Civic Si ecu.

97-98 do not have the immobilizer.but your only problem is the plugs don't match up .may be someone can make you one or you can repin it yourself. good luck
