Default Engine Troubles...Need Help

Hey,
I've had some misfortune with my Honda today.
I was driving, and the car sputtered, lost power, backfired and died. I've tried to start the car, but all it seems to do is spin the starter and backfire, it's come close to starting, but hasn't actually fired, it just shakes a lot. I thought maybe it was a weak fuel pump, because I've had a little trouble when I corner hard, the engine would miss for a second, then pick back up, but this time it didn't pickup again.
Any ideas, anything I can try would be great.
Thanks
91 Civic CX, 260 000KMS, and yes I have gas...

Hey...thanks for all the advice....it turned out to be the little set screw on the rotor shaft in the dizzy....I took the cap off and the screw fell out.... for future reference it's a 3mm hex key...use the long one...and if you can...get a spare one to carry around with you just in case....Car fired right up once it was tight....
THANK YOU A MILLION!

A small dot of lock-tite will fix the SOB right up so that it doesn't work it's way out again. I've had the crap happen to me twice on 2 different ED's(EF's). Fun stuff.

Glad I could help man
