External coil on internal coil ECU???
Will an ECU made to control an internal coil work with an external coil? The set up is an ECU for an H23 on an H23 in an Accord with external coil. Basically I changed the distributor over to an external coil to run the original ECU but when swithed to the H23 ECU the car has no spark. The Accord ECU works but I would rather use the ECU that the motor is designed to use. That will also allow for control of the secondary butterflies, since the original ECU didn't have to. I'm sure I'm losing some engine performance with them (secondary butterflies)not working.
Thanks

I don't see why not. I mean the jdm p13 ecu was originally equipped for
an internal coil and people use the h23 external coil and dizzy with that.

Well I have the Accord ECU running and it ran fine up until today wanted to put the H23 ECU in it and the distributor I had I'm guessing was from an H22 Vtec. It was internally coiled but switched to the old Accord set up.
