Default D15 Turbo Q's

I have read alot of the topics on this and just wanted to get a few things straight. As I understand it I can use the d15 in my 94civic dx, but install another d series head such as z6, y8,or a6. What would be the best turbo for the d15? Also what can I expect from the motor hp wise with just say a z6 head, 8psi with a small turbo?? Any help is appreciated as I know this is a widely talked about topic.. Also any people that I might be able to talk or email with about a d15 setup. I have the loot the tools and the places to get the parts.. Just need a direction. Thanks

Im just looking to speed up this slow d15, im game for bolt-ons but as far as changing rods and pisons that I dont have the time for.. To many toys already I have projects goin on.

well since that swap is so cheap just build up the block and run lots of boost.

I could easily buy the greddy setup but if i were to spend thast kind of money i would rather spend my money wisely and goto a bigger motor.. I'm getting the y8 head, and have a guy getting me all the parts from a 1g DSM (turbo, BOV, injectors). How much nos can I throw on this, or would it be worthless. Do they sell stronger rods for a 1.5? Because through some research these past few days going to a 1.6 piston/rod setup seems to be a lil safer. Also I have seen topics posted about the dx trannies being to long and that an EX would be better, I have an ex tranny avaliable to me. Engine has 116k.

Depends on the manifold you purchase, for the most part I have seen a lot of D series A/C compatible manifolds.

Here are few D16 turbo searches:

Ok what about NOS on that d15 block? Does it do more harm then good? Also what are a decent set of pistons and rods.. OEM or aftermarket?

Y8 head? Dont raise your compression for like 15 horsepower if you're going to go turbo.

stock head, leave it stock compression, research Uberdata (www.ecimulti.org/uberdata) and boost away.

well i have 2 complete y8, z6 heads, question is what setup is gonna make me the most power with dsm parts (td05h, 450inj, 1g BOV). I will have the STD by fri, used for $25. I have some1 already with the uberdata so that I can remap either the vtec or dx stock computer. As i Understood from readin these posts that a change to the y8 would result in more compression but I would also have a larger intake manifold and still would be able to throw good number at the 5.5 to 7 psi mark. what kind of numbers are ypu pushing with the d15 setup? also waht about nos? does it do more harm them good? or should i not have to worry because of the quik spooling turbo?

You can use the intake manifold without using the whole head. You're doing this all yourself or what?

yes to the work... only way I'll know it'll get done right. I have a month before I can commit to this project anyway, and hopefully in that time I'll be able to actually see a kit done this way first hand. D15B where you located?

Anyone else with comments to these parts..

td05h turbo
std manifold
dsm 450 injectors and 1g blowoff
z6 and y8 heads

I havent driven a d series that has been boosted, some say 190-220 with just turbo setup leaving the stock head, all this work is for a 94 civic dx hatch. Will be doin pulleys, ex tranny, eliminating a/c.. What about a cam gear or even nos, talk to me fella's.
