need help bad *STARTER*
I have a 89 honda CRX Si w/ JDM B16a and LSD. Ok here is what happened. I was evacuating flordia with my girlfriend and her family. It was stop and go traffic. I noticed that i need to readjust my clutch; it was getting bad. So, we pulled over at a mcdonalds and i got out and disconnected my battery. Of coarse the engine was screaming hot from the extremely slow stop n go traffic. Well I readjusted my clutch and reconnected the battery. I got in the car and tried to crank it. When I turned the key over to start it nothing happened. We worked on it and still nothing happened. We push started it and bam it cranked right up. But when I kill it and try to restart it; it wont crank. I have no performance problems or anything. No new noises any thing when it is cranked. I went and got a 91 integra starter and put it on. I am sure i reconnected everything. I got in the car and the same thing' no crank. Please help me out. I just moved to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and i have no car right now. Any help tips or anything please help me.

ignore this.
The first thing i would do is get a test light. Go to ground, then to the main lug on the starter (wire from the battery). If you get 12V there, continue. If not, trace the wire back to the battery...
Next, there is a little plug on the side of the starter, pull it off. And stick your tester in there, have someone turn the key. If you get 12V there then its your starter. This wire goes to your ignition and is energized when your key is turned all the way. This pretty much just gives power to the solenoid which then tells the motor its time to start turning and picks up its power from the big cable.
Now if you DONT have power at this ignition wire. CHeck ALL your fuses, underdash and hood. If all your fuses are good. You may need a new ignition switch. Or you could jimmy one up so you can still drive. Just disconnect this 12V wire on the starter, (the thin one, not the one that goes to the battery) tape it off. Attach a new wire, run it inside the car to a push button, from the push button go to a 12V source. This is your starter button.
Good luck!

I know your trying to help him diagnose if its a dead starter or not, i have already done this, you just simply jump it or test both wires for 12v.
The mainrelay IS good, or else it would not run when pushstarted.
This is strictly a starter/circuit problem.

Keep in mind this takes 5 or more days. (in my case) I left the battery on the ground for 3 days, (on cement) dropped it back in started it right up.

Well just to let you guys know I took everything back off and redid everything and I put a new battery on it. The old one was dead. Tried to crank the car and nothing happened. So I jumped the starter and it cranked right up. So, I check the starter/clutch relay (button). When I was in the stop and go traffic; I messed up the adjustment on the button that operates the relay switch. So the clutch was not engaging the relay. So, I just had to readjust the switch. Thanks for all ya'lls help. I was really stumped on this one.
