Tried to go open header.....Car will not run????

I have a N/A LS with big Crower 404's. The car idles well with full exhuast. Today I removed my exhaust to run open header on Sunday............The car lopes a lot and idles down till it cuts off. Any thoughts???

BTW: I wanted to try open header to free up some pony's. My exhaust is 2 1/4 and is not mandrill bent. Thanks!!!

so i'm guessing you don't have the catalytic converter hooked up?

do you have o2 sensor on the cat that isn't hooked up? though i can't see that killing the engine like u describe.
