What to do about a motor?
my current motor in my gsr is showing its age and either needs to be rebuilt or replaced.
I was planning on turboing the vehicle, but I really wasnt planning on going any higher than 7-8psi to begin with.
I can take the motor out, dissassemble, and even re assemble if need be, But i dont want to spend no more than 2k to fix it back right.
Any more, and the car is getting trashed.
the cylinder walls appear to be wearking, as well as a possible head issue. The car still runs and drives.
What can i do, to fix this back properly, and possibly back to hold my 7-8psi with tuning, that i was planning on running.
Does anyone know where i can get a motor/trans combo without paying their asking price of over 4000?
any suggestions appreciated.

if you going turbo, eventually your gonna have to take the motor apart, everyone starts out only wanting low boost, then like the infectious rabid disease that boost is you'll start touching stuff for more boost. i say rather than waste money on a new set up just redo what you have, get the head checked for bent valves(i read your other post) and rehone the block, get new low compression pistons, rods bearings etc. then save your money for a good fuel mangement.

If your worried about money then this is correct. You could grab an entire LS block/head for much less and there all over the place. You could also keep that GSR tranny of yours (much better gearing). You could do all of that for far less then 4k and you could then decide with the extra money if you want to build up the block or keep it stock and just buy a top of the line kit (full-race) or piece one together with all the goodies.....
