Default B20B/PR3 CRVTEC turbo owners Please Read ... Or gurus.. THanks..

My setup: b20b/pr3 stock head, stock bottom end mid milage on both.
Drag turbo kit with .4bar spring (circa 6 psi I think)

My uneducated confusion: I am running an old school fields VTEC controller on a stock p30, stock injectors and overkill msd ignition.

Is the Fields controller worth having tuned or are they outdated and restrict tuning points as far as fuel maps? apexi vafc hack a resonable solution?

Also, I don't feel a great deal of power gain on this engine setup say compared to when I had a dsm turbo feeding a stock b18b in the same chassis... is this just the tuning? or lack of?

also, I am getting idle surge periodically... do I need to look at my map and the check valves, or what?

also, cruising over 3k rpm, the temp creeps up fast... already checked for air in system... can't imagine a headgasket problem considering I havent beat on it yet..

any help appreciated... search didnt turn up a whole lot from anyone who seemed to know exactly what they were talking about.

Fix your problems, then get it tuned somewhat, then see how it drives
