Default Autolock ruins pedals...

Have any of you guys experience any wear or bending of their pedals from using the Autolock? I just got mine today, i'm wondering if it'll bend my clutch pedal over time? Or will it ruin my clutch when I have it engaged? Thanks

I've heard of the Autolock wearing a hole in the carpetting underneath the brake/clutch pedal after prolonged use.

The poor guy in the link below apparently only had an Autolock protecting his car. It surely didn't do much in preventing thieves from stealing and then completely stripping his car (read what they wrote on his windshield!). As can be seen in one of the pictures, the Autolock was actually still attached to his clutch pedal. The thieves appeared to simply have bent it out of the way.

So, even if you take the care not the bend the clutch pedal, a thief surely will try.

ouch! But it's all about layers of security, the dude didn't even have an alarm. The more layers you have the harder it will be for them to steal. But i talk to some people, i think that some people have problems with their pedals because of improper placement.

dont seem to have any bending problems with mines and I've used it for 2+ years so far. Perhaps it's not long enough to tell yet. Also, whoever just have an autolock and nothing else, please layer your car with more than that if you love her. My security mods is more numerous than my engine mods, but that of course is because I have a d16

Besides towing the car is there any other way to start up a car without the clutch down? Also is it drivable if the clutch is inoperable?

Put it in netrual start it and I suppose you could drive it without the clutch but it would be a pain in the *** to get going and I'm not sure if you could if you don't know how to start it without the clutch you sure as hell shouldnt be driving it without one. I would only try it to get somwhere to get a new clutch though as It would not be safe and would be hard so basically yes it's possible. BUT DON'T DO IT just replace the clutch as driving without it will also strip the gears and you will end up with a lot more problems.

Yeah but what if they need to stop and the motor stalls out. So they gotta turn the ignition on again? Won't it just stall out again anyway unless maybe they slam on gas while turning the ignition?

I was talking about if the theif tried to get away in the car if the autolock was still on the clutch. Not me driving around without one lol. I would never do that.

I would just put it in neutral and roll a little ways in neutral before I stopped. Then probably rev it up and pop it into gear to get started again but I bet it would strip some gears fairly easily but it is possible.
