First off have u tried searching this has been covered 1657465465645 times. It all depends on how its built. If you just slap a vtec head on a b20 block and rev to 9k no it wont be reliable

didnt mean to come off like an ***, this topic just gets beaten to the ground. but to answer your question this can be just as reliable as a stock motor just has to be built correctly, and dont cut corners damn it, build it right the first time so you dont need to build it a second time

it just depends on how its built example b20b block(stock!!) p72 head(mild street port) 2000itr cams , SK2 intake manifold, itr tbody itr header...193.2hp/141 torque 12.9@103mph in a eg on slicks.......built 2 1/2 years ago daily driven from riverside to fullerton. still screaming strong..

just make sure you do it porperly, change the oil regularly, and just take good care of it in general...and it'll be JUST as reliable as any stock honda engine.

you do it and beat it everyday, it's gonna wear out faster, just like any stock engine would....so, have some self control with the gas pedal
