i accelerate..and my rpms fly up..but i dont move fast..is my clutch slipping??HELP!!
i have an 89 civic si hb and when i accelerate..my rpms skyrocket..but i dont move like i used to, its like..somthings not catching..please help me..do i need a new clutch??..or whats going on?
yeah, this would be symptomatic of a slipping clutch. if you ease into it, do you at least move a little?
try adjusting your clutch cable..im 99% sure that your clutch disc needs to be replaced..and do it soon or else you will be stranded somewhere...good luck

Yup- try the cable first.

i had the same prob and i thought it was my clutch and i was out of town, so i had to take it to a shop and they said the cable needed to be adjusted. (oh and they did that for free)

I was having the same difficulty. Apparantly when I last had my clutch adjusted, I wasn't told that that was the end of it. When it started to slip, I was wtf. I got a new clutch in and all's been good.
you need an oil change..maybe a head rebuild.
All those guys telling you its the clutch are way wrong
(do you sence the sarcasim???)
