Need to pass inspection, please help NOx failed
Guys after the swap in my crx, d16z6 went for vehicle inspection and i failed for emissions,(NOx standard 1304,reading 3292 result fail) please help how can i fix this. thanks
I have the stock cat converter on their, i don't use cheap gas 93+2 octane and my smog results are as stated above, it's the only thing i failed for? some of the certified technicians at my job said it could be timing, what do you guys think?
a smog tech. is alot different from a reg tech.
and a full report will tell alot
all of the 4 gas affect each other
by the way did u even watch while the guy smog ur car?
did they even check ur ignition timing?
did they smog ur car in second gear even if ur at 3k rpm?
like i said ur smog sheet will tell alot.

I was having a hard time passing DEQ (Department of Environmental Quality) here in Oregon because I was failing on Hydocrabons. To beat Hydrocorbons I would lean out the mixture via a Ajd Fuel preesure regulator. If I went to far I would pass hydro carbons but would fial NOx. NOX can be caused by hot cylinder temps, i.e. running too lean or advancing ignitiion timting to far.
Make sure you are running a proper mixture and try retarding your timing a bit.
